Biretta in Eucharistic Procession?

Is the priest carrying Christ under the ombrellino/canopy allowed to wear a biretta? Do the EF rubrics say anything in this regard?
 
As a general principle, no head covering is worn by any of the clergy in the exposed presence of the Blessed Sacrament. This is why my Bishop doesn’t wear either mitre or zucchetto when processing the monstrance at our Eucharistic Congress.
