A definite no-no. God killed a guy in the Bible for it. His name was Onan, (Gen. 38:8–10) . Anyway, it renders the sexual act not open to life.HI.

I would argue that God killed Onan for disobeying a direct command, not for the method of disobedience.God killed a guy in the Bible for it. His name was Onan, (Gen. 38:8–10).
Hmmm. I have always seen it explained the other way because failure to complete the duty he was commanded to do by Judah was usually punished by public humiliation, and not death. While here, he was slewn for violating the natural law. I think that’s how it’s explained in one of the tracts on this site. Oh well.I would argue that God killed Onan for disobeying a direct command, not for the method of disobedience.
In any case, yes, withdrawal is sinful.
Please note, that the church does not teach that birth control is a sin. Birth control, properly understood, is nothing more than the spacing and planning of your children.HI.

One, the Levirite law had not been handed down at the time and thus could in no way apply. However, we do see that the punishment for violating it was just humiliation.I would argue that God killed Onan for disobeying a direct command, not for the method of disobedience.

If contraception is ok, why did every denomination get it wrong up until 1930? The fact is, not only does the bible condemn contraception as seen in Genesis 38, but every Christian from the early years to Martin Luther and Calvin upheld this view.It is important to view children as God sees them, not as the world/Catholic Creeds tells us we should. Having said that, the BIBLE does not forbid contraception. Contraception, by it’s definition, is the merely opposite of conception. It is not the act of contraception itself that determines whether it is wrong or right. As we learned from Onan, it is the motivation behind the contraception that determines if it is right or wrong. If a person is practicing contraception because they will have more for themselves, then it is wrong. If a person is practicing contraception in order to temporarily delay children until they are more mature and more financially and spiritually prepared, then it is acceptable to use contraception for a time. Again, it all comes back to your motivation.
Hey, we’re glad you are here. Wouldn’t be the same without you! BTW, did your parents actually tell you that? Also completely unrelated to Church teachings is the reality that it is one of the LEAST effective methods of family planning. I’m living proof of another ineffective method, the rythmn method.

Actually, contraception (popular and common is the use of the many wonderful slimes goos prophylactics, rubbers, pills etc for the purpose of preventing pregnancy while using. It is important to view children as God sees them, not as the world/Catholic Creeds tells us we should.
