Seeing that today we celebrate the Nativity of the Theotokos, why don’t you pary the Akathist to our Most Holy Lady Mother of God would be a good thing. This is what I am going to do.

Here is a link to the Jordanville Orthodox Prayer Book. I know this is an Orthodox prayer book but the Akathist prayer is the same one we do in the Byzantine Church. The Melkites actually pray this Akathist on Friday evenings during Great Lent.

Here is the link…

myriobiblos.gr/texts/english/prayerbook/main.htm

Click on the Akathist link in the upper left frame, then click on the Akathist link in the lower left frame. That should open up the prayer in the main frame window.

Thank you ByzCath, that was a first for me.

Yes, Happy Birthday Sweet Mother!

Joanna

I’ll say it in one of my native tongues,

“Maligayang bati, mahal naming Ina sa Langit!”

(translation: Happy Birthday, our beloved Mother in Heaven!)

Penblwydd Hapus Gwynfydedig Mair, Fam Sanctaidd ein Arglwydd ac Achubwr Iesu Crist.

Happy Birthday Blessed Mary, Holy Mother of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ

Yours in the Spirit

Pious 🙂
