Marriage law change will cater to desire of adults

By Bishop Fred Henry – Calgary Sun

In the debate relative to redefining the nature of marriage, the young Liberals at the last Liberal policy convention came up with a lapel button: “It’s the Charter, stupid!”

Some Conservatives at their convention responded with a button that read: “It’s the stupid Charter!”

I would suggest that we need a third button – “It’s about children, stupid!”

It’s so incredibly sad that a group of selfish, self indulgent, self absorbed adults are more concerned about their right to indulge in deviant behavior with state sanction and approval than to protect children.

When these types of thoughts are posted eventually someone will claim that such pointed words are not charitable and will not draw the 'gay" folks back into the church?

I see this as a struggle for immortal souls. If there were drug pushers talking publicly about forcing drugs on children how many would take umbrage at such words? Those that control the language often control the argument. The “gay” lobby has hijacked the debate for too long.
 
Some advocates of same-sex marriage try to argue that children would be better off with good gay parents than with bad straight ones – even though comparing the best of one thing with the worst of another makes no sense.
