Just an interesting tidbit.
The name Lucifer was not applied to Satan until quite late, sometime after Jerome’s (d. 420) use of the word in his translation of Isaiah into Latin.
This is attested to by the fact that there was BISHOP named Lucifer in the 4th century. He was a sort of ultra-Catholic Traditionalist against the Arians.
Imagine a Catholic bishop named Lucifer nowadays! The Fundamentalist anti-Catholics would have field day!
