Not going into schism over the prohibition is a form of “agreeing” to obey the prohibition. Despite the fact that the prohibition itself violated the “nec plus, nec minus, nec aliter” of the various treaties of reunion…We “agreed” not to ordain married men for over a century? I’m always suprised by this remark of nothing more, nothing less, nothing other, from whatever source, as the agreements were made in a particular territory, not in all jurisdictions. For example 1595 for the Union fo Brest, the Commonwealth of Poland-Lithuania (from the Union of Lublin in 1569 continuing Lithuanian power until 1795).Not going into schism over the prohibition is a form of “agreeing” to obey the prohibition.
