Hi,

For those who are from the Springfield diocese in Massachusetts, I was wondering, if this Bishop is very friendly towards the Old mass and traditionalists? I am looking around the area to find a good conservative parish.

Is this bishop conservative? in otherwords, is he more like former Archbishop Burke or Cardinal Mahoney?

Also, does anyone know who owns the former Franciscan St. Hyacinth seminary in Granby, MA? I know it was rented out temporary to Holyoke Catholic High School while they were doing renovations at the original high school site in Chicopee.

I ask all this because, well, frankly traditionalist orders are overflowing with seminarian applicants and many are being turned down because they have no room in their seminaries. If St. Hyacinth is empty, why not invite one of these traditionalist orders? Will the diocese sell it to them instead of selling to the town which they had debated over a couple years ago? I’d rather see a new full traditionalist seminary than a new shopping mall or something secular.

Thank you,
Roger
