I was going to title this thread:

“There are wolves amongst us!”

Why?

Because in my researching some of the Protestant Christians here (those who’ve reflected anti-Catholic sentiment in their text whether passive or outrightly aggressively), I’ve come across some stomach churning writings on their part.

They’ve come here “pretending” to be our friends, pretending to want to have a peaceful relationship, criticizing those Catholics here who’ve defended their faith against their attacks as being mean and nasty when they themselves (in the comfort of their own Protestant forums) have been complete hypocrites.

Now, I was going to name names, attach their quotes to them and list the links as proof just to out them, but as I began to prepare my “expose” on them, a voice came to my heart…

“Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called sons of God.”
Matthew 5:9

And all my wrath dissipated.

Now, while I still am disturbed by their hypocrasy.
I will “not” out them.

Instead, I will sit on this information and everytime that these people attempt to criticize us for what they do, I will point out the logs in their eyes.

I will not instigate a conflict, but neither will I stand by and allow these persons to come here, disrupt us and the inroads that we are making with those Protestants that truly do come here for a common understanding and with cyber fellowship.

So…you who read this know who you are.

I’m on to you.

One slip up and I will begin writing in the sand myself.

This is a fair warning.

I want peace. I do, but while we must be as gentle as doves, we must also be as wise as serpents.

Consider this my attempt at peace with those hypocrites.
I am giving them a fair chance, a warning.
As long as they don’t criticize any of my brethren for doing what they’ve done on Protestant websites, I will not expose them.

Let this be a sign of my desire for peace.

myself i considered going on protestant website and harrass them like i seen a few do here.but after praying before the Lord in the church,my heart was changed i saw how dirty that would be.not very peaceful. thank you Jesus for keeping me from this sin.

I, for one, will NOT go to Protestant forums looking for debate. I am here to enrich my own Catholic faith, as it was handed down to me by my family.

I DO participate in threads that discuss our faith in comparison to others. And, as I have written in several threads, I believe that many of the Protestant posters on this forum are not truly trying to find understanding through dialogue, but rather are baiting arguments…arguments that they have been TAUGHT to pursue by their Protestant teachings.

I know this from personal experience. My youngest sister joined a “Bible Church” about a decade ago, and subsequently married a young man who later became a “Bible Church” youth minister.

Every time I see her, she baits a “Faith Alone”, “Scripture Alone” discussion…it’s just a matter of when. She KNOWS having grown up Catholic (with priests in our family) what we believe and why.

I know the feeling. If some think I’m aggressive now, what would they think if I wasn’t being held back by my Christianity?

We just have to hold fast to Christ, to seeing the example He set when He had to deal with the Pharisees of His day.

Again, I’m not talking about those of our Protestant brethren who are truly here to fellowship with us and to learn why we are what we are.

I’m talking about those snakes, those broods of vipers, those hypocrites that outrightly lie, that I know lie, that I can prove are liers.

The hardest thing for me to do was to put away my human will and inclination to “win” at all costs and to obey that message.

These posts might not seem so “peaceable”,
but the undertones should let people know that

I am fighting my own will.

Diplomacy is certainly a good first step, and solves many problems. But even peacemakers must be prepared to take up the sword in defense of the innocent if diplomacy fails.

They have this listing of things that The Catholic Church has introduced into Christianity that they call unbiblical.

It’s bizarre. They even go as far as to criticize the use of wax candles (totally ignoring that candles are used in The Old Testament in God’s Temple, in The New Testament and in The Book of Revelations), Priests dressing differently than laymen (even though this has always happened since even before Christ), along with an array of criticism on our faith as well as complete lies about what we do.

I’ve seen this list several times and I’ve posted scriptures that match each accusation (after which I received “no” response from the various posters of this list).

There is one poster here who is one of those “true” Christians I spoke of and “she” knows who she is. Hugs and kisses for her.

I’m all for turning the other cheek when “I’m” personally struck, but when my neighbor is struck, I’m ready to lay down myself down for them (in cyber terms, risking getting banned) in their defense.

I realized after it was too late to edit my post that I should have clarified. I knew that this was probably what you meant. I hope I didn’t come across as disagreeing with your decision not to return fire. I think it’s very charitable.

I used to have this joke when I’d come up against a really radical Catholic or a staunch anti-Catholic…

“The Inquistion…ahh, the good ol’ days!”

I’d say that to get under their skin. I knew the effect it would have on them and I knew that it would draw out their “true” feelings.

But I’m kind of learning to move on from that type of fervor. I think it’s a phase some of us go through when we realize that we were wrong and we’ve come back “to” The Church.

Catholic Reverts and Protestant Converts make for the strongest (if sometimes, over zealous) apologists.

Honestly, when Peter jumped up and cut off the ear of those who came to take away His Lord, I did cheer a little (even now I’m smiling as I write this).

That is the human nature in me.

But who wouldn’t jump to His defense like that today as an act of reaction?

Peter was The Apostle that loved Jesus most. That says a lot.

Anyway, we have to live by Jesus’ words (live by the sword, die by the sword).

So, I have to put it away.

I can’t promise that I’ll be a good Templar forever, but I can promise that I’ll try.

hi 2ndGen i have to agree with you on reverts and fresh converts being perhaps a little to over zealous. i kinda think if i found this site when i first awoke to the truth, i probably might never been able to ever get back on here again.once i this “pastor” was talking about the catholic church and saints he was stating the church defiles saints by making them saints something to that effect. if it was possible i would have reached into the tv and slapped him up the side of his with the bible he was holding. my priest wasn’t to impressed with that idea though.

I know that this is wrong, but I could probably take about 1 strike to each side of my face before I struck back.

I’d try my best to “not” strike back, but if all I see is a rapid succession of strikes to my face, my “Christianity” will run out and I will strike back.

For anybody who believes that they can eternally take strikes in the face and “not” strike back, mark my words…all men have a breaking point in which the balance of Christianity VS one’s carnal nature is tipped.

There was this guy who I argued the killing (not murdering) with. He said he’d never kill another man. So I asked him what if a man was about to rape and kill his little girls, his innocent daughters, would he let him do it if the only way he could stop this man was by killing him?

He said that he would stop him by killing him if he had to, but he’s against anybody killing anybody else. There was a double standard for him. His daughters were good enough to live, but not anybody else’s daughters.
