Blessed Oil and Salt Question

Do you think it would be weird to ask my priest to bless some salt and oil? I want to bless my home. Do you think thats a good enough reason. My family argues everyday and it can get hectik
 
I’m not sure of the answer to this, but I would have thought Holy water is enough to bless your home. I like to pray aloud the Hail Mary and prayer to St Michael while doing so.

Might also be a good idea to pray for the intercession of St Gerard Majella (patron of the family) and also St Joseph to ask the Lord for peace and unity in your family home life.

I don’t think it would weird to ask a priest these things and if he thinks it’s not appropriate he may offer you some other useful spiritual advice.
