He did convert to Christianity back in the late 70’s. His album “Slow Train Coming” was about his conversion. I’m not sure if he’s still Christian or any religion at all. I’m glad to hear he is (or was) pro-life. I wish more popular figures would take a stand against abortion.

I don’t think he is still a fundamentalist Christian as he was back in the late '70s. I thought I heard he was Jewish again. Could be wrong though.

I am pleased but not too surprised to learn that he is pro-life. Starting in the late '60s I think he saw himself as increasingly out of step with the counter-culture and “progressives”.

There can be a Jewish Christian. That’s just a Jew who accepts Christ. There’s no law against that. In fact that is just what the first ones were.
