Book called "Imitating Jesus"

I have been recommended this book. Imitating Jesus. I do not know if it’s Catholic or Protestant or if it because of it’s contents doesn’t really matter because it hits us all. Has anyone read or heard of this book?

It’s Protestant. It DOES matter that it’s not Catholic. While some things are commonly shared among all Christians, only the Church has the fullness of faith- we have things Protestants don’t. The Eucharist is one. So why waste your time on a book that doesn’t offer the fullness? How can we imitate Jesus if we don’t participate in the sacraments HE instituted?

I commend you on looking for books to further your faith, but I’d suggest one that presents the fullness of the faith.

There is another book called The Imitation of Christ by Thomas A. Kempis and it would be considered Catholic. It is a classic.

Oh course you are right on what you have said. What I was meaning is that someone has to begin with faith. A desire to imitate Christ and begin to search. Then what you say matters 😉

The Imitation of Christ is surely, available online to read as well, free.

There may be other editions of this “Imitating Jesus” but 5 reviews at amazon certainly are not very many.

In the end though, if we have not read them, we can not say for certain however, I believe that after the Bible, the biggest Christian book ever is “The imitation of Christ” by Kempis.

Imitation of Christ online to read. It’s probably in many places as I don’t think there would be a copyright problem. It’s from a few centuries ago I believe and was written in perhaps Germany:
