Im looking for some book/dvd suggestions for my library that deal with these topics, statements:
a) Im interested in textual criticism from the religiously conservative stand point. (having read more liberal takes than i should of probably)
b) books or DVDs on the crusades/inquisition from a catholic stand point…(I know the basic catholic answer which cast doubt on the protestant version, but id like to get a little more indepth than just a one page article)
c) Catholic reformers of the middle ages… or the catholic answer example Francis De Sales is a catholic answer to john calvin.
d) missionaries and missionary techniques of that time (middle ages) I guess maybe auto/biographies also?
e) popes appointed kings and tried to establish theocracy, sale of appointments to church offices was a common occurrence,
I seem to run into a lot of protestants who always seem to equate the bad popes, and the mis use of indulgences by tetzel as being what the entire church officially believed (never mind the fact that by that time the church was everywhere) so hopefully, by finding books and dvds and such, this well help me provide a credible case against the protestant understanding of religion in the middle ages. and a more indepth catholic answer.
