I’ve been looking for things to read on two topics, semi-related, that are suddenly very urgent to me. This past weekend, I had a forty-minute confession, and the Holy Spirit did this thing where He kind of stood up in the form of the priest and snapped His fingers and said, Hey. You. Pay attention! :rotfl:
  1. Knowing one’s self/self-possession/etc.
  2. Loving/placing one’s heart in balance with the mind/etc. (I tend to think first, and feel second, but both need to be in balance, with the heart the most-cared for.) 😃
Anyone have any good suggestions reading-wise? Either online or in book form or whatever?

Many thanks.

Imitation of Christ, Thomas A Kempis,
True Devotion to Mary, St. Louis de Montfort,
The Diary of a Country Priest (novel), Georges Bernanos,
The Path to Rome (semi-bio/travel reflection), Hilaire Belloc
Jesus Our Eucharistic Love, Fr. Stefano M. Manelli
Brideshead Revisited (novel), Evelyn Waugh

Catholic classics that pertain to your concerns. Best of luck.

Two story mountain by Thomas Merton
Mother Teresa Come be my light
No greater love by mother teresa
Where There Is Love, There Is God: A Path to Closer Union with God and Greater Love for Others by Mother Teresa (Aug 10, 2010)

I hope it helps,

The Psalms.
