Is it okay for me to recite the prayers from the Book of Common Prayer that I bought from this website : andrewespress.com/bcp.html . I was also thinking of buying the St. Ambrose Prayer Book (andrewespress.com/ambrose.html) and maybe in the future, the Monasic Diurnal (andrewespress.com/md.html) and the Monastic Breviary Matins (andrewespress.com/matins.html). Can I trust this company and be okay reciting the Hours and prayers from the books from this Lancelot Andrewes Press? I noticed that this website is Orthodox.

Yes. (I have that prayer book which I use in the wintertime) . .

It is not approved. But I do own all those books and have reviewed some of them on my blog.

The St. Ambrose prayerbook is the most non-Catholic of the bunch. It really isn’t for us, but for the Orthodox. It contains rules for the Western Rite Orthodox, an examination of conscience with a subtle Eastern slant, and cut down versions of Catholic devotions.

OMG! I am subscribed to your blog!! I did not noticed the book review tab until you send me that link to your blog. Thank you for your blog. I have been using it for things to look out for. I just finished reading the Book review for the Anglican Breviary. I have considered buying it but I couldn’t find a review for it. Thank you.

Also, instead of the St. Ambrose Prayer Book, should I use the St. Augustine’s Prayer Book? I have seen those in a Catholic Book Store near my church next to the Book of Common Prayer (1979).

The St. Augustine’s is Anglican right? I’m not familiar with that one.

In my opinion the best prayerbook with traditional English is this one:

absnospin.blogspot.com/2010/08/review-deluxe-blessed-be-god.html

Every Catholic should own one.
Anglican, yes.

The St. Augustine Prayer Book is most often found amongst Anglo-Catholic flavored types.

Contents are listed here:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Augustine%27s_Prayer_Book

My parish frequently used it for Stations.

The Anglican Breviary is described here:

anglicanbreviary.net/faq.html

The current edition is a beautiful work, which was brought out privately by a gentleman I used to know.

Note: I just checked the blog. I think you can skip the link to the Breviary.
