Book of Jesus and another "Dan Brown"

Hi all,

I have been hearing of another “Dan Brown” writing about a book of Jesus. One of the themes discussed is that Jesus did not really die & rise but lived with the apostles.

Has any one heard of this, if so can you give me a clearer picture of what this is about.

I watched the special on the news on Monday and I am very angry that Mr. Brown could make such a claim without even providing his proof. He just expects us to believe him when all his evidence has just disappeared or has only been seen by him referring to the parchments owned by the businessman.

I have not read the book and do not wish to.

I haven’t seen anything about the latest go-around regarding “Jesus didn’t die on the cross,” but in the seventies the so-called “swoon theory” was quite popular among people who didn’t want to consider Jesus to be God. And of course, Moslems have been claiming that Jesus didn’t die on the cross for over a millenium. People who make this claim never provide any evidence that stands up for over five seconds because there isn’t any such evidence. The whole thing is just warmed-over baloney.

I heard about it. One of the authors of “Holy Blood, Holy Grail” (one of the main sources for the Davinci code) wrote it, althought I cant remember his name. The book is called “The Jesus Papers”.

The only reviews I herd about it were something to the extent of “It is imaginative to say the least” and that it is “voodoo scholarship, not to be taken seriously”.

It is sad to see so many getting sucked in by these pepole like Dan Brown and Michael B. A friend of mine lend me the Da Vinci book but up to now I have refused to read it primarily because otherwise I feel as I am contributing to the hipe. Who knows how much damage the movie is going to make.

This sort of reminds me about the King Arthur and Crusades movies that came out “recently” (within a year I think). Both portrayed the clergy as corrupt, ritualistic, fanatic etc etc. And then comes the hero who fights against the supression of the people by the Catholic Church. Leading them out of evil institutionalised religion and into true faith and common brotherhood.
