Book of Judith: Douay Reims Vs. RSV

Hi,

I was just comparing the Douay-Reims version of Judith to the RSV / NAB version, and I noticed that there are some major differences in the translations…for example, Chapter 1 has 16 verses in the RSV & NAB, but only 12 in the Douay version.

It’s kinda technical and boring but it has to do with the source materials. which codex did they use? which papyri? etc. I found that the Nab has quite a few of those kind of differences-it’s one of the books I’ll be covering in my Bible study!It’s a great story-enjoy!!
