well heres the deal allweather, sorry that im not quick enough to answer your question and those posed by others, it jst so happens that my work does not have me stting here at a computer screen all day with nothing better to do, maybe indeed my time would be far better served by riding my bicycle and knocking on doors, and if you give me the name of your street I might just drop by, but then i might miss the nice warm welcome that has been extended by some and that would be a shame. So instead of stamping your feet and trowing your teddy form your cot and saying i’ll scream and scream until i get an answer try and relax and stop drinking so much caffine it will stop you from being hyper. Love montague…
Well, I think it’s a shame that Zerinus’ replacement missionary is not able to do any more than bluster and blather. Most of us also hold down fulltime jobs, montaine. When we do get precious keyboard time, we don’t waste it with blather and posturing, the way you seem to prefer doing. You stomped in here accusing us of being apostates, and now are crying about the welcome that followed. Frankly, I think we were more nice to you than you deserved, considering how inconsiderate you were in your introduction.

insults insults insults, its a shame really but I can all ready see after one day that open debate will be impossible with you, just like so many, it’s not myself that accused you of being or belonging to a apostate religion I just passed on the information to you.

I can us getting on very well from here on in and we could both post thousands of words to each other and you would be none the wiser, but still hide in your closet trowing out insults while avoiding real debate or setting a tone that leads to debate that is not worthy of comment… hope this is clear enough english for you as I’m trying to use small words so you can understand when you lose the chip on your shoulder drop me a line you will find me a warm and accommodating person or better still add me to your msn where we can share real warmth

I’m not seeing where I’ve insulted you, montenegro, but if you say so… Now why don’t you skeedaddle on over to the apostasy thread you opened up and do some answering, rather than wasting all your valuable free time trowing dust in the air here.

see i knew we would get on well allstorm…

Guys, just leave the LDS troll alone… He’s not answering any of the pointed questions and it’s just negative attention at this point.

All bark, no bite and absolutely no idea how to get back to the food bowl…

What drives Mormonism on in today’s United States is the fact that it is a racist religion. And racism still exists in the US.
still waiting on facts to support this claim jerusha are you going to back up this claim? or are they just empty words. I will settle for written testimony from people who are in full membership how they belive the church is racist. or those that can give me personal details in private of course which can be emailed to me.

or those that feel they have been over looked because of their colour or creed i mean thats a wide spectrum of people to choose from.

failing that you dont know these people personally im willing to let you pass on my email address to anyone you like to confirm the racist claims you boldly made. then when you have done that we can answer some of the other questions after all someone who asks questions should be able to answer the claim that he makes.

This is an easy one. here are some excellent examples of racist doctrine being taught by LDS prophets, apostles and scriptures:

lds-mormon.com/racism.shtml

all of the quotes on that page list sources and are thus easily verified and with that information the complete articles from whence they came can be read to ensure that nothing was taken out of context.

I did and i believe that this answers that. you can see from my link documented examples of racism being taught as doctrine in the LDS church by prophets and apostles. you can also see the scriptural references that these doctrines are based on. if you are claiming that LDS members in good standing won’t admit that they are racist or that their doctrines are racist then I don’t know what you are trying to prove.

I know a 75 y/o Mormon man who is extremely racist. However, I don’t necessarily attribute this to the religion, even though I’m aware of a strain of racism running through Mormonism. Most likely this man was raised on these beliefs about the African races, and just found some reinforcement in his new religion, which he adopted as an adult. Personally, I don’t put a lot of stock in these charges of racism, but I do think it is just a hair disingenuous for Mormons to deny that it existed in the past. Maybe foreign Mormons, those in Ireland and elsewhere, are less attuned to the sort of racism that has characterized American history.

there doesn’t appear to be lot of wiggle room in the fact that the LDS scriptures still claim that dark skin is a curse from God to show the world that a group of people are (or were in the past) extremely sinful so that everyone would know to avoid being caught up in their sinful ways. LDS doctrine on the pre-existence still states that the station you are born into on earth is a direct result of your choices and actions in the premortal spirit world.

Now they can try to soften the effects of that with the 1978 declaration of priesthood and temple being available to all worthy members but that declaration doesn’t say those restrictions were wrong. in fact is says they were correct and good but that they have expired and are no longer needed. (don’t know why the dark skin is still visible then)

We also still have the detailed explanations of these scriptures by LDS leaders that shows us that they thought that racism was a godly principle when properly applied.

Once again you can quibble over “properly applied” but I don’t see how a critical analysis of the BoM and the BoA can avoid a conclusion of doctrinal racism.
