Book of Revelation interpretation?

I think it is about the roman empire but uses the empire as a foreshadowing or figure of the end of the world.

It’s about many things but I never understood what the Mass really was until I read Scott Hahn’s book titled “The Lamb’s Supper” which is about the Book of Revelation.

It seems to me it is primarily about the destruction of Jerusalem by the Roman Empire and, in another sense, about the Second Coming and the events surrounding it. Jesus wove the two together in his apocalyptic discourses despite their being quite distinct events from the perspective of us living long after the one and before the other, and it seems to me John did as well in Revelation.

I would recommend “The End” by Scott Hahn. There are a great many reasons to believe that Jerusalem and not Rome was the main target of the book of Revelation. There is definitely a harmony to the preterist view and Scott Hahn definitely does his homework.

I would recommend “Coming Soon: Unlocking the Book of Revelation and Applying Its Lessons Today,” by Dr. Michael Barber. He goes line by line through the book and gives a good Catholic interpretation of it.
