I have been reading Scott Hahn’s book, “The Lamb’s Supper” and oh my goodness has it shed some light?
Has anybody ever heard a fellow protestant talk about the rapture or end times or even heard of the 'Left Behind" series.
Let me just give you a brief insite of what I have learned, and I totally recommend this book if you want to fall in love with our Lord again, especially in the ultimate prayer, “Mass”.
Keep in mind the first 11 Chapters is about the Liturgy of the Word, The last 11 Chapters is about the Liturgy of the Eucharist. I might be a few off on the scripture vs… but they are there…
Let me know what you think!
Liturgy of the word:
Rev 1:2 Blessed is the one who reads aloud and blessed are those who listen to this prophetic message and heed what is written in it, for the appointed time is near.
Priest with his vestible
Rev 1:12 wearing an ankle-length robe, with a gold sash around his chest
Incense during Mass
Rev 8:3 Another angel came and stood at the altar, 3 holding a gold censer. He was given a great quantity of incense to offer, along with the prayers of all the holy ones, on the gold altar that was before the throne.
Ending the Liturgy of the Word, Going to the LIturgy of the Eucharist
Rev 11:19 Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant could be seen in the temple. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings, and peals of thunder, an earthquake, and a violent hailstorm.
Mary’s contribution by giving her Son Jesus Christ to us as the new covenant
Rev 12:1-2
A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman 2 clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was with child and wailed aloud in pain as she labored to give birth.
Celibacy of Priests:
Rev 14: 3 These are they who were not defiled with women; they are virgins 3 and these are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They have been ransomed as the firstfruits of the human race for God and the Lamb.
Catholicity
Rev: 14:5 Then I saw another angel flying high overhead, with everlasting good news 6 to announce to those who dwell on earth, to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people.
Glory to God in the Highest (Song of Praise)
Rev 15:3-4
They were holding God’s harps, and they sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb: “Great and wonderful are your works, Lord God almighty. Just and true are your ways, O king of the nations. Who will not fear you, Lord, or glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All the nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.”
It is right to give him thanks and praise
Rev: 19:1
Alleluia! Salvation, glory, and might belong to our God, for true and just are his judgments.
Soul and Divinity Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist
Rev 2:17 ‘“Whoever has ears ought to hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the victor I shall give some of the hidden manna; I shall also give a white amulet upon which is inscribed a new name, which no one knows except the one who receives it.”’
