Citizens of the Heavenly City: A Catechism of Catholic Social Teaching by Arthur Hippler

I decided to study up on social justice as it is taught by the Catholic Church. I have seen the terms “justice” and “social justice” sometimes used to mean many things (i.e., rights for certain classes of people such as homosexuals, promoting health care coverage which includes abortion and contraception to name just a few). These often have a political component.

If you are looking for clarification on social justice and what it REALLY is, please get this book! It’s not long (154 pp) or difficult reading. See the above link for a short review, and here for a longer, more detailed one:

My reason for looking for such a book in the following post.

My main reason for researching social justice is that I have become aware of “faith-based community organizations” which have a political agenda, but which is somewhat covered unless you know what to watch out for.

A new one is being promoted in our parish, and right away my “radar went off” as to what they were trying to do, partly because of who the leader was and mainly after finding articles by Stephanie Block at www.rcf.org and other sources, I have realized these org’s are being planted around the US and even in other countries. If you were paying attention during the recent presidential election, these groups are like ACORN; all have the same foundational group and basically are fronts for political organizing, although they will not say so right in their literature.

The recent revelation that the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) has given millions of $$ to ACORN and other org’s is apalling! They in turn give money to org’s which support abortion and contraception, and maybe same sex marriage which are all violate Catholic moral teaching.

What these groups have learned is that, if they use phrases and names for the groups (LEAH or ESTHER) to make them sound like they are Christian in their values, they will be able to attract and use pastors or other leaders in promoting their agenda.

It is really **Liberation Theology** against which 3 popes have written. Here's one by Pope B16, then Cardinal Ratzinger, 1996:[ewtn.com/library/CURIA/RATZRELA.HTM](http://www.ewtn.com/library/CURIA/RATZRELA.HTM)

I write this to **implore all concerned Catholics** to pay attention, pray for guidance and **DO NOT** let your parish get involved in a community organization, no matter how many others do!

HELP THE POOR, NOT THE ORGANIZERS!

God bless us, every one!
