Book on suffering

A few years ago I was watching World Over and this women who had wrote a book on how she dwelt with chronic pain. I though she was from the west coast and that she also had a website for dolls.

I know thats vauge, but if anyone as any ideas on who that is and the book that would be great.

Any other books on suffering would be great as well.
 
The best things I ever read on suffering was St. Therese’s Story of a Soul and JP II’s Apostolic Letter on Human Suffering. Both changed the way I look at suffering.

I acquired a bunch of St. Alphonsus Maria de Liguori books from there, since they were sold at prices for charity’s sake (what could be more admirable?). I haven’t seen them much in stock there for a bit though, must be hard to sell such huge books at low prices.

Frankly, I think there’re many entire ministries in these times that if they simply dedicated themselves to distributing free or at cost such books they would achieve far more than anything else they devoted themselves too. 😃 So much money spent to so little effect that could go to so much.
