I’m looking for good Catholic book on scriptural Typology. I remember reading THE CATHOLIC ANSWER when it was edited by
Rev. Peter Stravinskas, there was a series of articles by a particular writer who had written a book on TYPOLOGY from Catholic point of view. Any Suggestions would be helpful.

I can’t think of a book that is entirely about types, but Mark Shea’s book “Making Senses of Scripture” dedicates a lot of space to it.

You’re looking for Jean Danielou’s “The Bible and the Liturgy” published by Notre Dame University Press. Extensive treatment of OT types plus plenty of Patristic insight.

However, I don’t know if it’s still in print.

THANKS! I’ve been looking for something like this too. 👍

Sadly it’s not in print though used copies are available - at a price…

One of you out there who wants to make money… get the book back in print or write a new one! 😃

I have been looking for AGES for a book on biblical types…!

I’ve just run across one at Amazon that’s getting 5-star reviews but I’m not sure whether it’s Catholic or not:

Study of the Types by Ada R. Habershon

Paperback

Publisher: Kregel Publications (December 1, 1998)

ISBN: 0825428505

amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0825428505/qid%3D1107630755/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/103-7263732-1539835

Cheers 👍
Thanks for the link.

On the same page is a section…
“Customers who bought this book also bought…” which lists a few more possibilities.

A good rule of thumb I’ve found on AMAZON is a “Catholic book” usually has at least one if not more 1-star negative reviews mixed in.

AS I noted in my original thread, about year ago a friend loaned me back issues of THE CATHOLIC ANSWER magazine edited by Father Peter Stravinskas. Stravinskas has started his own magazine called THE CATHOLIC RESPONSE since over some issue with Our Sunday Visitor. My point is this: The back issues were from 1999 to 2003. The was this guy that wrote articles periodically for THE CATHOLIC ANSWER on typology from a Catholic point of view.
He wrote at least one or more on typology pointing to the eucharist from the Garden of Eden forward. I remember reading at the botom of the page in the place “About the Author” it mentioned that he had written a book or manual on typology. I also remember his picture where he wore a cowboy hat or something. I just can’t remember his name or the exact title of his book.
