Remember Sara (Women of Mt. Carmel Book 1) by CS Bills
Dr. Sara Strampien is a brilliant cardiac surgeon, who for unknown reasons, begins to suffer from panic attacks. The attacks are debilitating, and threaten her sanity & her career. At the recommendation of the chief of staff and her therapist, Sister Helen, who is also a Catholic nun, Sara goes to Mt. Carmel Monastery, for rest and healing, with the hope that Mother Elizabeth, abbess & therapist can help her unlock the memories from her past.
I loved this book, especially the depiction of modern day life of the Sisters of Mt.Carmel and how each used their particular charism to help Sara. The characters were well developed. I felt like I wanted to meet them. Looking forward to the next Mt. Carmel book.
