Book Recommendation

I have been married for a little over 3 months and I am trying to get my husband and I to do things together to grow in our faith together. We attend mass together every Sunday and pray before meals but it is challenging to get him to do much else. However, he did pray the rosary for a novena I did recently. I wonder if there is a book that is meant to be read as a couple that would help us grow closer to Christ together. Any suggestions?
 
What about Pope Francis’ Amoris Laetitia? My fiancé and I read that together and it gave us lots to talk about. The first few chapters and the last are especially helpful, I think. Best wishes

All of these books that I reccomend has to do with your Sacrament of Marriage that will help you both grow, before reading them I reccomend to print it in a sheet of this list and show it to your parish pastor he will tell you which one of these beautiful books he highly reccomends to your spiritual needs this is best way to help your marriage through God’s blessing:

These books are a few to mention that will help you both in the long run.

Even though you are already married I highly recommend Three to get Married by Fulton I. Sheen
Reason for reccomend in it is because he reveals also the beautiful mysteries of marriage

Thanks so much for the replies. I am looking for more like a devotional that a couple does together but one that is not focuses on marriage. I have 4 or 5 Catholic marriage books already. I think what I am looking for does not exist.

If you can’t find what your looking for, make your own. If you want it, other people may also.

Do you both study and practice the Catholic Faith?
How well do you know what are the requirements of the Sacrament of Matrimony?

How do those questions follow from Amelie’s recommendation? Amoris Laetitia is addressed to all couples, not just those with previous marriages. :confused:

You can do most devotionals together if you would like. Just pick one you both are interested in.

If your husband is open to it, you might read a book together. Such as St. Francis de Sales Introduction to the Devout Life. That book is all about growing in holiness. Or you might decide you both would like to learn more about Church history or even learn Latin.

Or maybe you can find a ministry or a charity you are both interested in and spend time volunteering there. Sometimes men like more active suggestions.

I think your best bet would be to ask your husband. If he is attending Mass and praying with you, he has an interest in his faith. See what he would like to do.

The exhortation is addressed to all. It puts great emphasis to those who are in irregular unions.

I bought my parents a book a number of years back called “Two Hearts Praying As One”. (Admittedly I just thought the title was nice and didn’t really look through it.)
