Hi all,

I am a college student and I am looking for a few book recommendations.

First, I’m wondering if anyone knows of a good translation of Aristotle and Plato’s works. Along that same vein, I’m looking for a good book that explores their teachings and explains them well.

If anyone knows of any good political books, I would be grateful for recommendations of that type as well.

Thank you.

Anything by Dr. Peter Kreeft. Really, anything. You can’t go wrong. If you like philosophy his “Socrates Meets…” series is great. But pretty much everything he writes is great. I recently finished his “Letters to an Atheist”, also well worth the investment.

Check him out on Amazon HERE

If you’re interested in more recent history and politics, The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown (not Dan Brown) is a wonderful read about the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. The backstory about the Nazi buildup in Germany and the main story of the US team who won the gold medal in rowing meld beautifully into a fine book.
