I’m trying to find books to get as Christmas gifts for family members that either haven’t been to mass in years or just go once in a while when they feel like it. Any suggestions?

I read a good book about Catholic women (mainly that came of age in the 60’s and early '70’s) who returned to the church. It is a collection of very interesting stories that evangelize by their individual witness more than preaching at the reader. One woman became a witch, one a “hippie” and one lived with some nuns who gradually became very anti-male and anti-Catholic church while remaining nuns!

I recently gave it to my aunt who basically fell away from the church after marrying a Protestant. She has never joined another church and once she asked me why I didn’t invite her to join me when I left a picnic for mass. I think maybe reading the stories of women similar to herself might be a non-threatening evangelization.
