I’m sure there was plenty of scripture not used by religions, probably more thrown out that actually used to make up the OT. I have no clue why there was alot left out, probabaly because it didn’t go along with the religious teachings of that time period.
Even the Sadducces and Pharasees could not agree on what was truly the Scriptures.
Jesus admonished both to at least adher to the teaching they claimed to acknowledge, whether it be only the first five, or those plus the psalms etc.
We could do well to remember His words too. We acknowledge 73 books as inspired and are therefore obliged to follow them all under the guidance of the Church that received them from the Holy Spirit.
