Where can I see a chart or listing of what book’s of the bible were debated, when they were settled, what books were not considered inspired, etc…
thanks
thanks
I am not sure if the Coucils of Hippo, Carthage, and Rome had stenographers with access to MS Excel so they could make things that easy to follow. THis stuff happened 1600+ years ago, recordkeeping was not as important then as it appears to be now. Additionally, if there were records, they may not have survived such a long period of time. All we have is the say so of the Catholic Church, and that is good enough for this dude.Where can I see a chart or listing of what book’s of the bible were debated, when they were settled, what books were not considered inspired, etc…

The books are normally listed in the Bible, simply look at a Catholic Bible and a Protestant Bible and compare. Off hand, I think it’s Tobit, Judith, Maccabees 1 & 2, Sirach, Baruch, Wisdom and there are parts of Edith and Esther which were removed in the reformation. Actually, that isn’t fair to say. The reformation followed the Palestinian tradition of Judaism rather than the Alexandrian tradition. The Alexandrian however is the tradition Jesus and His Apostles followed.Where can I see a chart or listing of what book’s of the bible were debated, when they were settled, what books were not considered inspired, etc…thanks
It is parts of Daniel and Esther, not Edith. The books are normally listed in the Bible, simply look at a Catholic Bible and a Protestant Bible and compare. I’m actually reading it, got it on-lineI’ve never seen a chart that specifically addresses this issue. You may have to go about it the old fashioned way and just start reading up on it. I good place to start is the book, Where We Got The Bible, found here:
