I have a goal to read 50 works on angels. Any recommendations? I’m particularly interested in anything by church fathers or mystics or monastics. Are there any encylicals on the topic?

Thanks!

Why 50? I saw if you read one hour a day for 7 years in one topic you’ll be a world expert. That’s beacuse that’s one book a week, 50 a year, 350 in 7 years. I think 350 isn’t realistic. But 50 is and it would definitely make you well knowledgeable.

Heavenly Army of Angels by Bob snd Penny Lord.

All About the Angels by Fr. Paul O’ Sullivan

I know this isn’t exactly the kind of thing you’re looking for, but I do have to put in a good word for Joan Wester Anderson’s Where Angels Walk series. Each book is a collection of actual stories about people who believe they may have had an encounter with an angel. They’re very inspiring and pretty light, easy reads; if you ever need a break from the heavy stuff, I’d give them a shot.

“ Angels of God, Our Guardians Dear “
By Mary Drahos

I’ve read my fair share of angel books - how can you not ?
The stories of these various encounters
are so highly unusual and unexplainable
that they touch upon the Holy supernatural -
Delightful reading !
