Has anyone heard of Allister McGrath and his book called Christianity’s Dangerous Idea? If so, do you know if he is a reliable resource?

I’ve read his book on atheism (he’s a former atheist, now Evangelical Christian I think).

I thought he was “ok”. I haven’t heard of the book you mention, but I would guess that it’s fairly good, considering his Protestant background (I don’t think he’d get into anti-Catholicism).

Depending on what you’re looking for there might be better materials available though.

The best all-around apologist that I have come across is J. P. Holding and his website, Tekton Apologetics Ministries (the Ministry is independent, but Holding attends a Southern Baptist Church). Tekton links to several other apologetics websites.

Another great apologist is Michael Green. I think he is considered a top Anglian apologist. I read his book Baptism: It’s Purpose, Practice and Power and I found it very informative.
