Can anyone recommend a book on how to practice natural Family Planning?

My FIRST recommendation would be to contact your diocese and find out when you can attend an NFP class. I think the interaction with the instructors is of great importance!
But… to answer your question… there is a good take-home-study-kit through the Couple to Couple League.
My personal opinion on that particular book is not that great. It’s a very long text and can be frustrating.
My diocesan NFP course book was much shorter and easier to grasp (in my opinion)… so that’s why I recommend having a teacher on hand to ask questions.
There are several other good texts out there…
This one doesn’t contain the Catholic perspective of NFP, but I’ve heard great things about it… Taking Charge of Your Fertility

I second the recommendation for Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. There’s a full website (free) plus affordable software to download. There’s a free trial software subscription, too. The best part (aside from the book) is the free message board section, which is VERY active.

I have read Natural Family Planning Blessed our Marriage–
19 true stories by Fletcher Doyle who is a copy editor of the Buffalo News, he previously worked at the Palm Beach Post, and is a convert to Catholicism.
I have spoken to him myself personally and he really is devoted to spreading the benefits of NFP. He asked DH and I to contribute our story because of the serious reasons we have to avoid a pregnancy. Other stories are based on health reasons, spacing children, infertility, religious reasons, etc.
You’ll have to read the book to find out more. It is well worth the investment. God bless.
