I posted a similar thread down on Catholic Media before it was changed to Popular Media, so I am reposting it here since this is probably closest to the topic I am looking for. This board really needs a hardcore Theology/Philosophy forum.

In reading Salt of the Earth by Pope Benedict XVI, it seems he is a great admirer of St. Augustine.

What are some good book on Augustine, especially when it come to his Spirituality, Theology, and Philosophy. The only one I have found so far that looks interesting is Augustine of Hippo by Peter Brown.

I have both and Trinity. I am looking for a general book that summarized his Spirituality/Theology/Philosophy. He seem to be one of the few more famous Saints that there is not much in summary form. There are a bunch of books on saints like St. Thomas Aquinas.

For example, Augustine was more of a Platonist and Aquinas was more of a Arisotilian.
