Thank you for this. I might add for the OP, though, that you will not learn about “Protestantism”, but instead Lutheranism. It does contain statements of a comparitive nature (usually condemnations) to other reformation era movements, Reformed, anabaptist, etc.
If you do pick up the Book of Concord, start with the Augsburg Confession and its apology, and Luther’s Small Catechism.
