Any recommendation for books that would be good to refute atheism? My purpose is for a group teen book study, guided by a parent. One of the teen’s parent is afraid their child/teen is falling into the intellectual atheist trap, and would like the teens to be exposed to counter arguments. These kids have had very good doctrine classes, but need meatier classes than the DRE can provide at the parish level. Perhaps some Drs of the church???

Thanks for any help!

Blessings!

Maybe look into Answering Atheism published by Catholic Answers (I forget the name of the author). I enjoyed the book and it is a bit meatier, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m not sure what age of teenager you are targeting, but I would look into this or read it yourself before the study, or even just have it as a reference.

Father Barron is coming out with a DVD, study guide, etc. on combating the new atheism. It will be released no later than September.

Thank you everyone! So many to choose from! I love Fr Barron, I can’t wait for the September release :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:. We will probably do that with the kids. Over summer we will do one or two books ( or excerpts.). You have been most helpful! May God bless you!
