OK, I first have to admit that it takes a lot to offend me. When I see or read things in the media that go against my religious or personal morals, I usually just look the other way and ignore them. However, last night I was flipping channels and landed upon an episode of Boston Legal and watched about 2.5 minutes of it. This was long enough to witness a courtroom scene in which a teenaged girl was suing St. Mary’s (Catholic) Hospital for refusing to administer the morning after pill to her after she had been raped. This of course resulted in her becoming pregnant. When asked what she planned to do now, she said she was **morally opposed ** to abortion so she had no choice but to keep the baby.

OK, now this just insults my intelligence and I want that 2.5 minutes of my life back. I think I might sue ABC for them.

Short of EWTN, you’re rarely going to be able to turn on the TV and get anything that at some point doesn’t offend Christian sensibilities. Most of it outright blaspemes.

This is a huge soap boax for me. The onslaught of reality shows has only made things worse. For a while, I had hoped that Survivor would be something decent to watch, but then up pops the pre-requisite GAY character…and naked no less!

But I digress. I’ve never watched Boston legal. The previews alone were enough to have turned me off before ever tuning in.

The rest of what’s on is as insulting to the intelligence as it is to even the most basic morality.

Don’t get me wrong. I love “fluff”. I’m not a big fan of deep, intellectual entertainment. However, there’s gotta be some middle ground? Andy Griffith perhaps?

I was really excited about the West Wing…right up until the “catholic” president was pushing for the same RU86 pill that your Boston Legal episode centered around.

Frankly, I spend alot of time with the TV muted and listening to the stereo, with my face in a gardening magazine.

What is scary here is that far more people aren’t offended by this. This is one of the big pushes right now by the pro-aborts, to increase the acceptance of very early term chemical abortion. And people wonder why I’m angry all the time.

We’ll be angry together brother.

I simply refuse to watch. Of course I find myself distinctly “out of the loop”…but comfortably so.

If Christians refused to watch, those shows would not be made. Are we living in a pagan country?

More and more, I think the answer is yes.

I had to give up Boston Legal about half way through the first season. I loved The Practice, but BL had turned so grossly left wing that I just couldn’t stomach it anymore.
