It’s been a goal of mine to qualify for the Boston marathon. As you can imagine it takes a big time commitment to train for this. I have a hard time finding a schedule that doesn’t diminish my prayer life or training routine. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to balance prayer with other big time commitments? Or possibly combine the two? Any suggestions would be awesome.

I guess that it would depend on how you like to spend your time in prayer. But yes, it is possible to combine the two. I pray while doing chores and while working out.

You may like to spend more time focused solely on prayer. Perhaps you can make time to go to adoration during your day. Many parishes have 24 hour adoration on first fridays if you do not have a regular adoration chapel.

Or perhaps you can wake up a little early, or go to bed a little later. I hope you are able to adjust your schedule as you need it, I know it can be difficult.

Good luck on training and running your marathon!

I started running several miles a week this year and actually spend it praying the rosary. I love it and it keeps me going.
