Bowing head at the name of Jesus

I was taught to do this when I was very little and I still do it.

I,am glad to hear this,all those who beleive in Jesus should,for after all,he did come to save us. Now we should return our Love to Jesus,by bowing our heads when we mention his name. Amen

In the 1962 rubrics, the priest bows at the crucifix at the mention of Jesus and bows at the Missal at the mention of Mary.

I have what I think is a fairly simple question. I understand that during Mass we are to bow our head at the name of our Lord, His Mother, and the saint of the day, but what about when we are kneeling? Is it the traditional practice to refrain from this bow of the head at these times, or should one do it then as well? Are there any times when such a bow, for laypeople in the pews, should be dispensed with?

I always bow my head when I hear “Jesus” which is what I was taught to do as a child and I now do it automatically. You can always see the cradle Catholics bow their heads at the name of “Jesus” it was what we were taught by the nuns. It is something I hope is still taught in Catholic school but I don’t know anymore.
