I’m having such a terrible time thinking of ideas for our upcoming RCIA retreat theme. It’s thankfully not my sole responsibility, but I don’t want to show up to our brainstorming meeting with nothing to contribute. Part of my problem is last year’s theme was sooooo appropriate, I just can’t think of anything else! Last year the theme was: “If today you hear His voice, harden not your hearts.” I can’t get it out of my head.

Suggestions? Thanks!

*Dear Beesweet,
Oh, wishing you well! This sounds like such a fun thing to do! Retreats are wonderful …RCIA retreats are so, so special!!!
A few thoughts:

If *God is for us, who is against us? ~ Romans 8:31
You did not choose me, but I chose you. ~ John 15:16
You are the Light of the world, let your light shine before others. ~ Matthew 5: 14, 16
I am the vine, you are the branches. ~ John 15:5

Best wishes and God Bless,

Where did your feet take you?

Thinking of that footsteps thing. How Jesus carries you when you think he is not there.

Maybe you could get some flip flops for everyone with their name on them and ask them to walk through the retreat with them, making sure they were mindful of each step they took? And, how far they have come to even join?

I thought of that because I did a park district playgroup thing where I got the children to know each other by drawing a picture under a flip flop out of construction paper I let them decorate. I titled it: Where did my feet take me?

They loved it!

I see the connection here too. Thinking Jesus’ sandals, and how a believer could never walk in his sandals, but he shared with all his humanity so that believers could share in his divinity.

Those are some shoes to fill.😉

How about?

“Me and My God: Salvation is always a personal choice”

“Knock and it shall be Opened, Seek and you shall Find”

“Be still and Know”

"Mt. 28:20 “lo, I am with you until the end of time”

“I am the way, the Truth and the Light” “No one comes to the Father, but through Me”

“Created in the very Image of God” [Gen. 1: 26-27]

Lots of luck,
