Hello. I have read recently that Fr. Brennan Manning - a Franciscan who no longer serves as a priest and now seems to be a popular spiritual writer in some Protestant circles - teaches a theology that more or less denies the need for repentence and conversion from sin - a theology that God “accepts us as we are”, more or less. Can anyone confirm that this is so? I have also read that he attempted matrimony in 1982 with a divorcee, without either an annullment on her part or a dispensation from his clerical vow of celibacy. Can anyone confirm that this is true? Thank you!
