Like I said before and the author shares my idea: “And how do the movie-makers pull off such a dazzling feat? Simple. They do it by raping the “Marlboro Man,” that revered American symbol of rugged individualism and masculinity.”

I thought the two guys were real cowboys. They were hired to herd sheeps!

The Marlboro Man is a poor masculine poster child. He was dumb enough to smoke and died of lung cancer. I view drug addiction, whether to nicotine, alcohol, other legal or illegal drugs as a weakness and not an attribute of masculinity. Try to picture Jesus with a cigarette dangling from his lips or puffing on a stogie.

Homosexuality and perceived masculinity or feminity are not mutually exclusive. Rock Hudson, a 50’s heart throb for many women, exemplified perceived masculinity but he was a homosexual who died of AIDS.

Everyone has known heterosexual woman who exhibit masculine characterists and heterosexual but effeminate men. And, it is common knowledge that many priests are homosexuals but are not recognized as such by their flocks.

Really? Common knowledge to whom?

Common knowledge to the hierarchy, which in the past few months has decried the large number of homosexuals in the clergy and is now taking widely publicized steps to halt the influx of homosexual men into seminaries. Soon inspectors will be making visitations at the seminaries. This has all been covered both in secular and Catholic publications.
