I don’t know the author or the website. However, I thought his analysis had merit.
 
Excellent article. I remember that Goebels had cinematographers use the same techniques.
 
I started a thread on this which ran for about a week before the Moderator closed it.forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=97251

It attracted a few people who claimed to be Catholic and gay, and degenerated into an attack on Church teachings. Some of them seem to have joined CAF in order to hijack the thread.

Just though you might like to be prepared for some pretty negative reactions. 👍

The same thing has happened on threads that I’ve started. I believe there are some here on the Forums who don’t believe at all what the church teaches on homosexuality. I had many people angry at me (probably some of the same people who hijacked your thread) for some of the threads I had started. This last August I started a thread on Excommunication and around 11pm California time a member or members (different member names) started posting very vulgar pornographic photos of men on some of the threads. One of them was posted on my Excommunication thread. The first thing I thought was it was the Devil. It was pure evil the stuff that was posted that night. The vulgar photos were all removed quickly but it was scary. I don’t think that incident was ever mentioned on the threads.
 
I’m experiencing that as well. IMHO it’s intimidation in order to try to silence dissent.
 
Yes, this film is propaganda at it’s worst and the author points that out quite nicely. It must be tough to be both gay and Catholic but it doesn’t necessarily have to be. The Church clearly states that being homosexual and respecting the truth of the Church requires chastity. If you unite your sufferings to Christ He can help you through it. People with same-sex attractions are human beings who deserve as much love and respect as any other human being. God demands that we treat those individuals with charity and kindness while at the same time not compromising the truth. It’s a tough task for both the individual with same-sex attractions and the other person(s) who are trying to fulfill God’s mandate to love one another as you love yourself. It can be done with prayer and submittance to the Will of Christ. Pray that we can all do it the way God wants us to do it.
 
I think we do more harm to ourselves by continuing to keep these discussions out in the spotlight. Even as one who experiences same sex attraction I have no interest in this movie.

I encourage discussing this movie. We can’t hide from this qand pretend its not there.

However, I think I share in your sentiment when I say that I will not spend a single dime if I think this dime might find its way in the pocket of those movie makers, directly or indirectly. I onw’t rent the film, I won’t buy the film even second hand, I won’t buy a magazine that has this film on its cover and whatever…

But we need to talk about our side, make our side heard. Preaching the truth is part of every Catholic’s DUTY…
