What do you know about Brother Andrew and his book ‘Secret Believers.’ Is it accurate?

I know only what can be discovered by a simple google on your title
and following the link on his book to his organization Open Doors
opendoorsusa.org/content/view/931/151/
which appears to be under Evangelical auspices dedicated to missionary work and distributing bibles, especially in countries they determine to be subject to persecution of Christians. I don’t know what you mean by “accurate”. If it is what he says, accounts of real life Muslims who are persecuted when they become Christian, people he has encountered in his evangelization work, I assume in good faith he is telling the stories as they were related to him. Don’t know how you would fact check that.

Sorry I didn’t make it clear. Is the persecution really that bad?

well without reading the book I don’t know how he has described the situation in those countries, but yes, Christians are persecuted in the hard-line Muslim countries where there law is the law of the land, to a greater or lesser degree, and of course in the places where communism is still the form of government, China most notably. This can mean anything from arrest and execution of Christians, especially converts from the Muslim state religion, to harrassment, lack of economic opportunity and so forth. Christians also face growing persecution in historically Christian nations where the official governmental policies have turned secular to the point of threatening the protections of their own constitutions (Americans, pay attention). They are also persecuted in many nations, Pakistan, India, Indonesia, by non-Christian majorities in acts where the local authorities either look the other way, or are powerless to act.

If Brother Andrew (he seems to have acquired that moniker in his travels in Russia) is writing from the Evangelical perspective he may also view countries where the Catholic or Orthodox churches have historical primacy as persecuting other Christians, but I would not assume that without seeing it in print on the website or in his books.

Nah, nah. There are a couple of priests in his book. He seems to have a good attitude towards Catholics.

so if you read the book, why are you asking, and what is the nah nah for?
