well without reading the book I don’t know how he has described the situation in those countries, but yes, Christians are persecuted in the hard-line Muslim countries where there law is the law of the land, to a greater or lesser degree, and of course in the places where communism is still the form of government, China most notably. This can mean anything from arrest and execution of Christians, especially converts from the Muslim state religion, to harrassment, lack of economic opportunity and so forth. Christians also face growing persecution in historically Christian nations where the official governmental policies have turned secular to the point of threatening the protections of their own constitutions (Americans, pay attention). They are also persecuted in many nations, Pakistan, India, Indonesia, by non-Christian majorities in acts where the local authorities either look the other way, or are powerless to act.
If Brother Andrew (he seems to have acquired that moniker in his travels in Russia) is writing from the Evangelical perspective he may also view countries where the Catholic or Orthodox churches have historical primacy as persecuting other Christians, but I would not assume that without seeing it in print on the website or in his books.
