Not sure if this is a good approach.Makes those who want to upset us feel foolish and shush up.

Anything from jail to forty lashes to death… depends on the groupThe first time I saw Dogma, and this statue, I though “there but for the Grace of God go we!” How unlikely is this statue, really? Had we not been protected by the Holy Spirit, some of the goofy faction of the Church would have led us here, or worse! I hate to admit it, Dogma was funny to me. I know where it is wrong and why it is blasphemous, but I still laughed.
This is not the thread for it, but how would Muslims have responded to “Buddy Mohammid”?
Yes… I can’t really accept it or appriciate it, as it seems to turn our Lord into somekind of divine lap-pet.This picture seems to me to be making the sacred profane. It makes me hurt inside.
This is the attitude Holy Scripture says we should have.
- Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,
- who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,
- but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.
- Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
- For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,
- so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
- and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
I never said I think of Him as “Buddy Christ”. I find it to be a humorous interpretation of Our Lord and irreverent movie that points out the absurdity of the things that are going on in our Church. If you think of Jesus as the buddy christ, then how does this fit in with things like Mary’s exhortations to pray the rosary daily, because she cannot hold back Christ’s hand for long.

I don’t mean to be self-righteous or condescending, but buddy christ, man…

Yes, the BC is on my dashboard, because it makes me smile. I am sure that Jesus wouldn’t mind if I had a silly picture of Him that made me smile.
