I have always been a Bugs Bunny fan. Just sharing with other Bugs fans today.

Years ago I had a serious relationship for some years with a guy who just loved Bugs and Daffy. He caused me to take a fresh look at the series. One thing he pointed out to me was that whoever animated Bugs had based him heavily on the behavior of real rabbits, something he noticed because of spending time around a pet rabbit I had at the time.

There are so many “classic” Bugs storylines. Interestingly, it’s also a subtle but real introduction to classical music.

I love Bugs!

And I love all the Duck Season Rabbit Season episodes with Daffy and Elmer.

One of my favorite episodes is where Humphrey Bogart wants rabbit for Lauren Bacall at a fancy celebrity restaurant.

Elmer needs to cook Bugs. Bugs tries all manner of subterfuge, even performing as Carmen Miranda.

I have two favorites– Baseball Bugs and Buccaneer Bunny!

My youngest is a fan of the old ones.

I like the one with the red monster. Bugs then gives him a hairdo using dynamite as curlers.

One of the Bugs cartoons very appropriate for the Forum is the “Don’t pile on the Wabbit, don’t pile on the Wabbit” skit.

The doors routine is my fave in any cartoon.
I don’t care that it’s completely mindless. I love it and not ironically, either

The creators and producers of Bugs Bunny were among the most brilliant of all time. Most today won’t be aware that characters like Foghorn Leghorn and Sylvester the Cat were patterned after real people. The subtlety and satire remain unmatched to this day.

Foghorn leghorn sort of reminded me of s cross between Big Daddy from Cat on a Hot Tin Toof and Andy Griffith.

A fictional blowhard senator – The character of Senator Claghorn from the Fred Allen radio program.

(You can even find clips of the character on YouTube)

Outstanding! lol

Sylvester, with his spitting lisp, was apparently taken from an executive at Warner Bros. The fellow never knew it was him they parodying.
