There have been many threads seeking to explore the differences between Catholics and non Catholics recently…ussually resulting in extended debate. I would like to offer an opportunity to “let some air in” to these forums so to speak.

1) If you are Catholic

       could you please describe one attribute or quality of the faith our protestant brothers and sisters hold that you find admirable or worthy of emulation?

What is one thing about your OWN faith tradition that you hold very dear and would love for others to experience the way you do?

How do you share your faith in your own life?**
It’s my hope that this thread doesn’t turn into a heated debate, but rather an opportunity to share what we believe in love. It’s OK to discuss it, but let’s be charitable and keep in mind that we are discussing things very dear to our hearts. God bless, I hope this thread is a blessing for you today!

I will try to get this started!
  1. I love the worship and praise music that is common to most evangelical communities. It is incredibly uplifting to share some of these great songs with my children, and I sometimes use them as a personal devotion during the busy day:)
  2. If I had to choose one thing that I long desperately to share with my protestant friends and family, it would be the blessing of Christ truly present in the Eucharist! And I would also love to share the rosary… it is such a beautiful and powerful prayer.
  3. In my own life, I try to share the gospel first and foremost through example… In my vocation as a mother, I pray that my children will grow in the knowledge and love of Jesus, and His church:) When I encounter people with questions about my faith, I try to be prepared by studying my Bible, the catechism, and the lives of the saints…but most often I “witness” by striving daily to share the love of Jesus with anyone God brings into my life. I fail pretty often, but God always seems to forgive and provide ample opportunites to not only share, but LIVE what I believe in!

Their love of Scripture. Not saying that we Catholics don’t love the Scriptures, but in general (outside these forums 😉 Because Catholics here this usually does not apply to) it is the Protestants who are generally well versed in Scripture.

Hmmm great question. I would say the Eucharist but there are Protestants who believe in the Real Presence of Christ as it is. So I will have to go with Praying the Rosary. I know there are Protestants out there that do pray the Rosary but it is usually few and far in between.

It depends on the situation. I have “witnessed” to people (To use a term from my evangelical brother and sisters). I also try to be a witness of my faith to my family and friends with just how I live.

their sincere desire to be a truly Bible believer.🙂
