That’s absolutely ridiculous. Animals have sicknesses and medical issues too, though not as often as people, and they do need medical care sometimes. My cat has chronic urinary infections. One untreated infection and he could easily die a slow and painful death. But I guess I’m just supposed to let that happen. Please don’t advise on something you clearly know little about.

I admit that view seems pretty strange to me. For me, you allow a pet to live comfortably until it is their time to go. I don’t suppose that is the topic of the thread and it doesn’t seem to be a popular opinion so I’ll let it go.

You don’t have to spend money on an animal that you don’t have. If an animal is sick and you don’t have the money you can put it down or allow nature to take its course.

It was only a suggestion. I know many people do not have the ability to tell a pet goodbye when it is time and I can understand that too.

What has happened ? This was not the way you used to think.

By your reasoning, you should not have any hobbies and just spend on basic food , clothing and shelter. Everything else should go to charities for humans.

It was our present Pope who said that we should not treat animals like commodities.

The OP did not ask for more stress with advise like this please.

Not stressed anymore still tired of working two jobs but took some time off and that help. The cat seems to be doing well. I bought some feliway plugins to destress my cats and bought a calming color for the cat that was overgrooming himself. It seemed to do the trick. He’s healthy happy and seems to have let up on the grooming at least the fur on his belly is growing back which is a good sign. I think he was feeding off my stress and having a change of hormones after getting fixed and the combination stressed him out. Cats are highly sensitive creatures who seem to pick up on the emotions around the and can react at times.
