The original thread crashed in the hackattack. My attempts to find it have been fruitless. Once I located it in a cache but now it seems to be gone. Ominous. So where were we? We are not where we were, so I will recast the puzzle.

Let’s say that instead of the apple in the garden, the one thing forbidden to man is to buy white vinyl siding in Freeman Missouri. Yellow and gray are ok, as is buying white vinyl siding anywhere but in Freeman, Missouri. Let us say that Adam and Eve and family had happily grown and expanded across Eurasia, Africa and Australia, until, one day, their descendents come to Freeman, Missouri, and they Know what is Wrong. White vinyl siding is the rage across the world. What, then, shall they do? Can one run a siding shop in Freeman and not sell white? Shall all siding shops in Freeman be closed, lest the cursed color be purchased? What is there that mankind could and should and would do to prevent the fall? Or would there be a moral law burning in their hearts, unfallen, that would prevent them from wanting to do the dread deed? Would they corporately be able to prevent the fall? Instead of one man and one woman falling, would the whole race fall together?

This is a different question than was answered on the other thread. The other one came out more like that the man who is holy is he who is free of sin, that is, not under its power. This thread would seem to point more towards preempting sin that might occur.
 
Could he buy white in the next town over and put it up in Freeman?
 
People must learn to loathe the white vinyl siding of Freemason, I mean… Freeman, sorry!! That was too good to delete and retype 😃

For instance, in Utopia, it was described that the people there loathed silver and gold, like, it was too common to use for decoration, they made trash cans out of the stuff. And when foreigners came all dressed up in silver and gold bling, the Utopians, even the children, would think “those must be poor people, their kings dress like peasants.” And they couldn’t understand why in the world people so valued gold and diamonds.

That’s sort of the attitude that has to be cultivated.

But it’s not easy, we are conditioned to desire sin. And even without conditioning, we have concupiscience and the Devil himself working against us.
 
It’s a wonder there’s a single house without white vinyl siding!

And you have to wonder, those people with brick houses, what’s behind the brick???
