I joined back in January of 2018, when I was considering converting to Catholicism from being a decade long Atheist after receiving a post card of an image of Our Lady of Fatima.

I am tired of my posts being censored and removed even when they are NOT uncharitable or mean or anything. My most recent post of “the really question is are EMHC’s used too much?” was flagged and removed as “off topic” ON A THREAD about EMHCs! This is ridiculous censorship. It was just a question! I am still learning and full of questions and is just very discouraging!

It’s almost like there is a very narrow agenda pushed here and if you step a toe out of that or ask the wrong question you are hushed up. I am not playing these games. I will no longer be participating on this forums.

I agree with you on the flagging here. Sometimes it seems to be overused.
You can contact a moderator and discuss it with them.

I hope you will rethink leaving, but if you feel your spiritual journey is facing
obstacles here, that must be frustrating.

I understand completely where you are coming from. I too along with others have noticed ‘flagging issues’ and is the reason I am not posting as much as I used to.

I wish you well, and hope you will remain even if you just read, comment less, or find another discussion forum elsewhere to join.

You are leaving CAF, post like you are not afraid of being banned by whatever CAF faction that hates you.

What where you to afraid to ask about? Ask it.

Also, most of us here probably know enough about apologetics to be alive today. We must ask ourselves, on judgement day, what will I regret not doing(charity, volunteering, etc)?

I’ll say one thing. Please don’t think God hates you just because you were censored. These forums have poor moderation. Most of it might be opinionated and/or inaccurate. I would say that this isn’t the best place to explore Catholicism anyway.

I leave you with this one prayer. Since you mentioned that Our Lady of Fatima spurred your interest.
Be with us Mary along the way. Guide every step we take. Lead us to Jesus your loving son. Come with us Mary, come.

I agree with @OurGodIsWithUs on this not being the best place to explore Catholicism.

I stick to the games (actual games in the Casual Discussion area), read what others say, and post rarely in the other areas. While there are some knowledgeable people here, there is that phenomenon of over flagging and post removal.

I’d explore Catholicism through RCIA or read as many books on it as I could. Please don’t let the flagging here paint a poor picture of Catholicism or Catholics in general.

I went back and read a some of your post and I agree with you. Just remember the church/faith isnt the same as the people in the faith. People can be wrong, the faith can not be wrong,

You’re right, moderation is a little weird. Not the end of the world, though. Have a chocolate milk and call it a day. Read a book by one of the church fathers and stop coming here. Mother Theresa writes some incredible things, too. God bless you.

I second this. I am sorry to hear that your experience of the forum has been negative. Don’t let that discourage you from further study of the Catholic faith. God bless you on your journey.

It’s sad that it has come to this…

I too have greatly curtailed posting and it’s the general consensus among veteran posters that this Forum is no longer very helpful.

@nightshade. This is an embarrassing admittance…What is a EMHCs? Eucharistic Minister?? Bye light bright…my mother said the plant Night Shade can be poisonous, I changed your name…anyway even Abraham had his name changed, keep asking questions-- but also pray for the faith to believe and wonder. have you heard of Augustine Institute? It is on line.
 
Assumption…Assumption!! Might the problem of this format be lack of funds on CAF. Since it is free…who knows how much it cost to run this forum and maybe that’s why their are problems…just speculation. 😳

The Old CAF was too expensive to maintain. It had numerous paid Moderators and outdated software. The switch to Discourse in 2017 was done to save money and modernize the forum.
 
O I just thought he Light Bright was what he was – someone bringing light in his search into the Catholic faith. I hope he didn’t take it the wrong way. O well I guess he is gone. And if he does become a Catholic it is like Abram getting to be Abraham –
 
When I saw the title – first your name and then in my (whatever you call it, the thing you can check to see new topics, responses etc. I saw Irishmom2 Bye I am leaving CAF and I thought O there goes Irishmom – I am glad it was just your asking me why I changed Nighty’s name.
 
I agree with Phil3

Catholics are ALWAYS a disappointment but the Church is still the Church, still the one and only that Christ founded and most important of all, His Real Presence is there (although it seems a lot stronger in some Churches than others… kind of a mystery as to why that is but I have some theories…)
