How many Byzantine Catholics are there? I’ve seen estimates range from as low as 7 million to as high as 10 million when all Byzantine sui iuris Churches are put together. How many are there exactly?

Well, do you mean churches that use the Byzantine Liturgical rite? I know there are about 1.6 Million Melkite Greek Catholics 646,243 Ruthenian Byzantine Catholics, 5.3 Million UGCC. I think it’s difficult to tell, because many countries (such as my own) don’t ask questions about religious adherence on their census.

You can download pdf with statistics from CNEWA:
The CNEWA stats include Oriental, Maronite, and Byzantine Churches. The Byzantine Churches listed are the Melkite through Hungarian Churches - with ~8 million members. The others have ~10 million members.
