Sorry guys. I’m a “Cable” Catholic as you call them. I had ATT U-Verse, and loved it! Then I bought a new house, and it’s not available here.😦 Now we have satellite. I have a 6 year old and a 6 month old baby. I’m a newly laid off, Stay At Home mom. Sometimes Noggin (cable network for kids) can restore my sanity…or at least give me 30 minutes to restore my kitchen!

There are 24 hour news stations, which are admittedly biased. There are music stations that provide a great background to my day. Finally, there are Home stations (HGTV anyone?) which motivate me in my new vocation as a stay-at-home mom. This is not to say that I replace daily time in prayer with a media background…the t.v. is off most of the day, but sometimes I cannot sit down to read a book and the cable t.v provides much needed respite! 👍

God gave us free will; that’s stated in the Bible. In terms of ‘sinful’ programming vs Cable, Satellite, and non-Cable TV, perhaps these should be compared to the Internet and living within or close by a large city. Simply use your God-given free will to stay away/out-of the sinful channels and sinful areas. Continue enjoying the ‘good’ programming and the ‘better’ sections of town, and the Internet.
Certainly one’s available budgeted finances and affordability should always be factored-in, however THAT should be the ONLY reason of consideration for or against utilizing TV viewing regardless of type of service, also with the Internet. 👍
